Tasmania is renowned for its world class produce.
The region has a wide range of gourmet goods, including honey, chocolate, raspberries, wine and cheese.
  1. First stop is The Honey Farm in neighbouring Chudleigh, where you will find honey, honey bee products like propolis and royal jelly, and a large selection of lovely gift items and books, as well displays including a showcase of old beekeeping implements, an interactive beehive and a live bee exhibition hive. The ice-cream is delicious - try the blue gum!
  2. Continue on towards Deloraine, then detour south along Montana Road and check out Three Willows Vineyard, Tasmanian Pure Smallgoods and 41 Degrees South Salmon Farm; sample the delicious products and pick up some supplies for later.
  3. Return to Mole Creek Road and turn left then right into Bengeo Road (C163) which winds through pretty countryside and meets up with Bass Highway at Elizabeth Town; turn right onto the highway, then left to visit the Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm Cafe for morning tea or lunch and buy fresh raspberries (in season) and raspberry products.
  4. Take Bass Highway north and a few kilometres along on your left you will find Ashgrove Farm Cheeses, where you can sample the wide range of cheeses produced on the property, as well as other local Tasmanian delicacies.
  5. Next stop is the House of Anvers Chocolate Factory, home to delicious handmade chocolates, truffles and fudge; here you can sample some of the sweet treats before deciding what to buy; there's afternoon tea available in the cafe and a fabulous array of cakes.
  6. Then enjoy a leisurely drive back to Mole Creek for a relaxed evening meal, or picnic on the wonderful local delicacies you have picked up along the way.
